Mother Nature's twist. Our first carrots.

I enjoy carrots probably just as much as the next person. I enjoy them in salads and enjoy them on a veggie platter but other than that it's not my favorite veggie. Especially cooked. Maybe I'm missing the best carrot recipe out there?? :) Thankfully 1 out of my 2 kids eat them and of course this pleases me. Just the idea of my child noshing away on a raw veggie - I'm totally on board with that! Someone mentioned to me not too long ago that carrots were easy to grow. So I bought some seeds and our daughter was happy to scatter the tiny seeds in her garden bed. We thinned them a little here and there but mostly just let them do their thing. It was a pretty exciting pulling up our first carrots and they were much prettier than the bagged grocery store ones. Especially with their long lacy greens attached. It's been fun watching my daughter pull them up when she desires one, wash them and eat them. I would agree that they are pretty easy to grow. I can't wait to plant other varieties/colors! Here are a few that were obviously growing too close together. I just had to take pictures of it - it was really amazing and fun to talk about that day.
